Huron Ridge Acres
Steckle Family
The greenhouse operation opened in 1973 and has expanded to 1 acre of greenhouse under plastic with 70,000 square feet. A year-round operation, plants include primula and pansies for spring; summer bedding plants, perennials and vegetables; fall mums; and seasonal poinsettias. The farm has been in the Steckle family for 150 years.
“That’s who we are…moving isn’t an option. It’s just never been considered because this is who we are.”
The Huron County Museum conducted interviews with agribusiness specialists across Huron County. Thank you to Huron Ridge Acres for participating in our interviews.
