There is a man wearing a dark suit also sitting on a chair in the front row. There are two small children in the picture, one is wearing overalls and sitting on the lap of the woman on the far left, and the other is wearing a dress and leaning on the woman at the right side of the front row. There are five men standing behind the front row. The three men in the centre of the back row are wearing uniforms. There are two men on the far left and right hand sides wearing suits. The picture was taken inside a studio.
The negative and proof were kept in a brown envelope with "1013 Mr & Mrs Walter & family" written on it in blue ink. Also in the envelope were two pictures of the family with slightly different poses (A992.0003.190 & A992.0003.191).
