Legacy

Jack McLaren passed away in 1988. His works live on in households and buildings throughout Huron County as evidenced by the exhibition; a large collection of his resource files are held at the Huron County Museum Archives; and Jack McLaren's legacy includes an endowment providing drama and visual arts awards for Goderich District Collegiate Institute students, as well as scholarships for graduating students enrolling in post-secondary visual and dramatic arts programs.

"I was very fortunate to have been invited to Jack McLarens home. I remember going up a wood staircase and into the attic, which was a large room with windows at each end. It was all wood planks and lots of paintings! Some just stacked leaning against the walls.
