Letters sent to Hector Hays from Arthur McCluskey a soldier with the 161st Huron Battalion. He enlisted on March 20, 1916 in Goderich, Ontario. He wrote these letters to update his friend on the war and to thank him for sending tobacco and a new pipe. Arthur McCluskey died on October 26, 1917 four months after he was wounded by a shell. His name is on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
